Nalla - Cinematographer, Director & Producer

Nalla is a freelance cinematographer, director & producer since 1987. Having graduated from the Film & Television Institute in 1986 with a specialization in Cinematography (Film and Television), Direction and Editing, he began his career as an Operative Cameraman for feature films in South India. In his initial years, he also worked with government institutions like the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) as a high speed film cameraman, with DECU as a documentary cinematographer and for the Films Division of the Government of India as a documentary cinematographer on 35 mm.

With many firsts to his credit, Nalla has worked on some of the country's premier television shows during his days at Miditech - India's first environment series, Living on the Edge; India's first long running travel series, The Great Escape; India's first off beat travel show, Off the Beaten Path; India's premier automobile show, Wheels and India's first reality show, Hospital.

As a freelancer cinematographer, he has worked with renowned names in international documentary film making - David Malone, Rob Mc Bride, Bo Landin, Feisal Ali, Adrew Paterson, Eains Colley, Adam Smith, Kent Brainerd, Teri Maluhan. He has also shot over 40 stories for Focus Asia, Star World in India and South East Asia.

Films like Soul Searching, Immortality; Man-eating Leopards of India, Brased off Britain, Soul Connection, Human Face Transplant are just a few names that have won him international acclaim for his cinematography.

Nalla's work has been televised across the globe on broadcast channels like BBC World, Channel 4 UK, Discovery International, Star World, Discovery Health, Fox Channel, National Geographic, Star Plus, Doordarshan, PSBT India, NDR Germany and CNN. .

Nalla's interest lies in the genres he has covered - wildlife, environment, travel, science and technology, adventure, archaeology, history, society and culture, children and women issues, reality, religion, health and medicine, television serials, corporate films and television commercials. .

As the head of Business Development & Operations, Akanksha looks after business strategy development and implementation and also handles the production of the company's foreign productions and shoots. She also freelances as a line producer, still photographer and researcher.

In the process, Akanksha has become the youngest female executive producer in the regional film industry.
